Local board selects recipients for Pinnacle Wind Farm\u2019s $22,000 grant distribution<\/em><\/p>\n

Keyser, WV \u2013 November 21, 2018 \u2013<\/strong> The US Wind Force Foundation, Inc. today announced the recipients of the ninth round of grants from its Community Benefit Fund associated with the Pinnacle Wind Farm, which is operated by Clearway Energy Group. Eighteen grants ranging from $250 to $3,000 and totaling $22,250 were allocated to local projects, bringing the eight-year total of donations from the wind farm to $213,775.<\/p>\n

Thirty-two completed grant applications were received and evaluated by a local Allocation Committee made up of eight members of the community. The committee is chaired by Keyser resident Cindy Pyles. \u201cI appreciate the continued commitment and the amount of effort the Allocation Committee exerted in its review of the grant applications. They did an outstanding job. We appreciate that the developers of the Pinnacle Wind Farm designed a process for allocating grant money that allowed for local decision-making,\u201d said Pyles.<\/p>\n

The Directors and Officers of the US Wind Force Foundation extended a special appreciation to the members of the Allocation Committee: Cindy Pyles, Chair; Logan DelSignore, Vice-Chair; Bill Boggs, Rod Ryan, Terry Stephens, Walt Ward, Cliff Wendricks, and Carol Wilson. Their service to the Foundation and their community was a critical part of the process.<\/p>\n

Funding for the Foundation\u2019s Community Benefit Fund comes from Pinnacle Wind, LLC, owner and operator of the Pinnacle Wind Farm. The Pinnacle project was developed by US Wind Force and is operated by Clearway Energy Group. The project company agreed to finance the Community Benefit Fund when the project reached commercial operation status in early 2012 and each year for the life of the project.<\/p>\n
