Solar Installation to Lower Operating Costs and Increase Sustainability for AmerisourceBergen<\/em><\/p>\n

CONSHOHOCKEN, PA. \u2013 DECEMBER 2018<\/strong> \u2013 Taking another strong step toward sustainable operations, AmerisourceBergen announced a 2.27 megawatt (MW) solar installation at its California facility. Coupled with a solar power purchase agreement (PPA), the installation will be AmerisourceBergen\u2019s most high-profile commitment to renewable energy to date. The comprehensive solution was developed by Clearway Energy Group.<\/p>\n

Across our operations and supply chain, we\u2019re creating healthier futures with innovative practices and technologies that improve efficiency and environmental sustainability,\u201d said Erin Horvath, Senior Vice President of Distribution Services at AmerisourceBergen. \u201cWe actively look for solutions to advance our long-term energy goals, and Clearway Energy Group was a natural partner given their experience with procuring renewables and solving energy needs for Fortune 500 companies.\u201d<\/p>\n

The solar project will be installed on AmerisourceBergen\u2019s distribution center in Sacramento, California, financed through a long-term agreement to purchase the electricity generated. With a system capacity of nearly 2,300 kilowatts, the solar installation will reduce operating costs for AmerisourceBergen and produce sufficient electricity to offset more than 80 percent of the facility\u2019s annual electricity consumption from the grid \u2013 which is enough to power an equivalent of nearly 300 homes in one year. The project is expected to achieve commercial operation in 2019.<\/p>\n
